How The Audiobook Process Works

Audiobook projects have a lot of moving parts, from tone and pacing to character notes, file specs, and delivery timelines. My goal is to make the process feel clear, collaborative, and calm from the first conversation to the final files, so you always know what to expect and your story is handled with care.

1

Share the Story

Send the manuscript, sample pages, project details, timeline, and any notes about tone, audience, characters, or narration style. If you’re not sure exactly what you need yet, that’s okay. We can start with the heart of the story and go from there.

2

Find the Right Read

Before recording begins, we’ll make sure the narration style fits the book. That may include a custom audition, a short sample read, or a conversation about pacing, character approach, and the emotional feel you want listeners to experience.

3

Record and Deliver

Once the project is confirmed, I record with care, consistency, and attention to the story’s rhythm. You’ll receive professionally recorded audio according to the agreed timeline and specs, with clear communication throughout the process.

Audiobook Narration Listeners Can Settle Into

Audiobook narration asks more of a voice than a thirty-second spot in commercial voiceover. It needs warmth, pacing, emotional intelligence, and enough subtle texture to keep the listener close without pulling attention away from the story. Margie’s style is gentle, unassuming, and deeply listenable, making her a natural fit for books that need heart, care, and quiet presence.

A Gentle Long-Form Listen

Margie’s voice has a soft, grounded quality that makes it easy to stay with over time. Her narration feels calm and present, giving listeners a voice they can trust chapter after chapter.

Texture Without Distraction

Her sound carries a natural, lived-in texture that brings warmth and humanity to the page. It adds feeling without over-performing, helping the story feel intimate, real, and easy to enter.

Story First, Always

Margie approaches narration with the listener and the writing in mind. Her pacing, emphasis, and emotional restraint help the story unfold clearly, without the voice ever getting in the way.

About Margie’s Audiobook Narration

I bring a warm, intimate narration style to audiobooks, especially stories that call for emotional presence, patience, and a voice listeners can settle into. My delivery is gentle and textured, with an easy sense of pacing that gives each scene room to breathe.

I’ve been a female voice actor across fiction, nonfiction, memoir, children’s books, fairytales, romance, mystery, and character-driven storytelling. Whether I’m guiding listeners through a suspenseful moment, a heartfelt personal story, or a quiet scene between characters, I approach the work with care and respect for the writing.

My goal is never to overpower the story. It’s to invite the listener closer, creating the feeling of being guided through the book by someone who understands the heart of it.

Based in Shell Beach, California, I work with authors, publishers, and creative teams who want audiobook narration that feels human, warm, and deeply listenable.
